4 A’s of Marketing

So you have a product and you are determined to market it where you can reach the optimum amount of people. The Internet. Starting out marketing your product on the internet can be a daunting task. With the size and marketing potential comes the question, Where do I start? And how do I convince all these people that what I have to offer is the best. Well, understanding what the 4 A’s of marketing are and how to use them is the first step to Internet marketing success.

The 4 A’s of marketing first showed up connected with a man named Brian Norris. Brian Norris is a marketing expert who has been in the marketing business for the past 20 years. What are the 4A’s of marketing? They are, Analysis, Attention, Acceptance, and Action. Let’s take a look!

Analysis. For any type of marketing you need to know your audience, but especially when it comes to internet marketing. Who is interested in your product? Where do they spend their time on the internet, where do they spend their money? For example if your audience is Stay At Home Mom’s or Work At Home Mom’s you would be wise to start a blog, or post banners and ads on Mom blog sites and in forums. Find points of commonality. Find out where they are hanging out and what they are interested in. For the purpose of Analysis, it would be good for you to know and understand how to use key words and search engine optimization techniques.

Attention. So once you have spent the time deciding who your target audience is, it is time to grab their attention. Think about why it is important and urgent for the customer to purchase your product. Why is your product helpful, beautiful or entertaining. There are many types of internet marketing tools, such as, pop ups, banners, and text ads to name a few. Research your options and decide what the best way to grab the attention of your particular audience is.

Acceptance. Your audience has to accept that who you are and what you have to offer is real and legitimate. You have to give them reasons to trust you. Find common ground. Show them you understand where they come from, that you have been there and your solution is the only one that will truly help them. You have to believe in yourself and your product, or else the customer never will! And if they don’t accept you then they won’t continue with the next A of marketing.

Action. If the customer doesn’t take action then all of your work is for naught. So here is your opportunity and it is crucial that you are ready! Have an action step for the customer to take. Whether you have them fill out a form so they can request more information, or an opportunity to buy whatever you have to offer now. If you have done your job and followed the 4 A’s of internet marketing then your customer will be ready to take action.

Even in the overwhelming world of the internet, you can succeed in making a profit in whatever business you are marketing. The 4 A’s of marketing are a tried and true way to find your target audience, grab their attention, help them accept you as real and true, and lead them to the action you want them to take. But, they are only the beginning!
