Top 10 Games On Gamecube

Hundreds of games were developed for the Nintendo Gamecube since it was released in 2001. So many in fact that it can be hard to choose which games you want to buy. The ten games below are the games that I feel every Gamecube owner should have in their collection.

10. Super Mario Sunshine – The sequel to Super Mario 64 for Nintendo 64. This game was not as well received as the Mario's first 3D adventure but it was very fun. Mario uses a water pack to levitate and shoot enemies. The best parts of the game do not use the water pak at all and are pure platforming like in previous Mario games.

9. Pikmin – A new franchise for Gamecube inspired by Myiamoto's garden. Control huge swarms of tiny plant creatures and throw them at enemies, solve puzzles, and try to rebuild your space ship. This game is very fun and original. Plus you have to beat the game in 30 game days, so the entire adventure has a sense of speed and adrenaline while to try to beat the game fast enough.

8. Zelda Twilight Princess – A mature Link tries to save Princess Zelda from the worlds of dark and light. The second Zelda game for the Gamecube, it has the same graphic style as Ocarina of Time and a more mature story line than Wind Waker (see below). Twilight Princess is the first Zelda game where Link can control other animals and turns into a wolf.

7. Animal Crossing – A very simple, but addicting game. You move into a house in a new town and must get to know the townsfolk while running the errands, planting trees, designing t-shirts, and decorating your house. It is like 'The Sims' for PC. I never would think I would enjoy running errands, but I ended up forcing myself to sell this game because I was ignoring my real life chores.

6. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat – A platforming game using the Gamecube Bongo's as the controller. Run left and right with left and right drumbeats. Jump by hitting both and punch by clapping. The game is short but each level is unique and has different goals to achieves just getting to the end. Probably the Gamecube's most unique game.

5. Zelda Wind Waker – Many people did not like the graphics on this Zelda game because they were too "kiddie" in their opinion. But the cartoon style really helped you feel Link's emotions because they could be so much more expressive. A very fun adventure, slightly tedious in one section (a giant boat ride across the whole world), but one of the best games for Gamecube.

4. Super Monkey Ball – Roll a monkey around the levels while he is inside a ball. That is the basic design of this game, but it is very fun. The single player mode is like a puzzle where you have to get the monkey through a goal without falling …

What's Brewing in the Wii Homebrew Channel?

The Wii Homebrew Channel is a freeware Wii homebrew games loader. The channel was created to offer an easy way of running unofficial software on the Wii console. After installing this freeware, it appears as a standard Wii channel on the Wii Menu. Once launched a list of applications found on an SD card is displayed. Users are able to select an application to launch with a GameCube controller or the Wii remote.

The Homebrew Channel likewise accepts application uploads through a USB Gecko or TCP / IP (over WiFi or Ethernet) that allows quick application testing during development. At first launch of the HB Channel will check for updates and will enable the user to automatically download them if they choose to do so.

Installing the Wii Homebrew requires the use of software exploits, since Nintendo designed the Wii game console to prevent the use of unauthorized software. One of installing the channel on a Wii is by using a bug in the signature verification of disks and a modchip. Another way of installing this channel is by using an exploit in the game "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess." Dubbed the "Twilight Hack" this exploit was developed by Team Twiizers, it is a specially crafted game saved copy from an SD card . Wii's Firmware version 4.0 has completely disabled this hack. However the Twilight Hack currently runs on all Wii System Software versions except for version 4.0. Nintendo announced that as of December 2008, Wii updates will no longer remove the Homebrew Channel if it is already there.

The Wii HB Channel is compatible with many different types of controller including the Wii Remote, the Nunchuck plus Wii Remote, the Classic Controller and the Les Paul Guitar Controller. The channel has its own browser that can download applications to do a variety of things. Other applications can also be downloaded from the official hackmii Website. Many Web sites have been reported to be selling the free software in violation of the copyright claim of Team Twiizers. Some of these sites have been stopped but there are still others who are trying to peddle this freeware.

The site of the Wii Homebrew Channel is promoted as a channel for launching homebrew games and applications without running the Twilight Hack first. The menu it shows is a list of applications stored and organized on an SD card, which is easily customizable to look just the way the user wants it to look. Homebrew apps will run via TCP or USB Gecko. …

Dog Food Aggression

Dog food aggression is one of those dog behavior problems that is difficult for us humans to fully understand. It just doesn’t seem to make sense that your dog would consider you a threat to his/her food resource. I mean you gave him the food in the first place, and if you feed your dog’s the same kinds of foods that I do, it’s not all that appealing anyway!

But, what is your dog thinking?

If your dog glares at you, snarls, growls and positions himself between you and the food he is actually saying to you “this is mine, go away, find your own”. He is basically telling you that he considers himself as the leader or alpha dog in your household. Dog food aggression (sometimes called canine possession aggression) is a dominance issue, it is serious and needs to be addressed immediately, it won’t just go away.

We’ve all made the mistake of laughing and even encouraging our feisty little dogs when they first display the “cute” signs of dog food aggression. Don’t fall into this trap! Food or toy aggression in dogs should never be tolerated as you never know when it can escalate into something more dangerous for you or a family member.

Why Does Your Dog Display Dog Food Aggression?

Canine possession aggression can be triggered by any number of factors but in most cases it can be attributed to one of these common causes:

– Your dog is desperate for this food, in his mind he doesn’t know if or when he will get more food. Therefore he protects or guards his food, just like he would have done in a pack situation in the wild.

– Your dog may begin to see you as someone who is always taking good stuff away. He comes to view you more as a threat than a provider (you’ve got to turn this thinking around).

– Dog food aggression can be part of the general confusion regarding who the leader is in your owner – dog relationship. Often it is not an isolated incident, it’s something you need to rectify.

– It’s possible that your dog doesn’t even understand that his dog food aggression is unacceptable behavior. In such cases there is an obvious communication breakdown between human and dog.

General Rules For Correcting Food Aggression In Dogs

– If your dog is directing his aggression towards other dogs the best solution is to simply separate them at meal times. Feed them in different rooms or in their crates.

– Involve all of your family members in this dog food aggression training.

– Take control of feeding time. You control the time and place of dinner time – own the food!

– Make your dog earn any food. Just simple tasks like sit or a down stay is fine.

– Make it clear to your young puppies that it’s good to have people around when they are eating. If you do this from day one you will …

A Brief History of the Nintendo

Let's start off with the history of Nintendo the founding company of the Wii and many other popular games systems like the Nintendo 64 and gameboy and Nintendo DS.

Following is a list point form of the companies origin and growth spanning over one hundred years.

1889 The companies founder Fusajiro Yamauchi, who is the great grand father of the present day president of the company, began manufacturing card game called "Hanafuda" He set up his small business in the Japanese city of Kyoto.

-1902 The original intent was to manufacture the card game, to export to different parts of the world. The game was a success abroad as well as in its native land Japan.

1975- Nintendo and Misubishi Electric developed a kind of video game system and they introduced the microprocessor into video game machines for the first time.

-1977 Nintendo started to create video game systems for the home user together with Mitsubishi.

1978 Nintendo started selling coin operated gaming machines, using their micro processors. They then shortly thereafter started a separate division for manufacturing their coin operated machines.

-1980 Nintendo came to America for the first time, they created the branch Nintendo of America Inc.

-1981 Was their defining year for Nintendo they developed the coin operated video game "Donkey Kong" This video game became the hottest, most watched after, video game in history.

Despite protests from video game manufacturers and the Press Nintendo changed the name to "Wii" The name at first received much ridicule from many constituents, stating that the name appeared to convey a sense of childishness. Nintendo responded and said "Revolution as a name is not ideal; it's long, and in some cultures, it's hard to pronounce." So we wanted something that was short, to the point, easy to pronounce, and distinct. That's how 'Wii, 'As a console name, was created.'

Since it's launch the "Wii console" has sold more units than it's competitors (xbox and playstation) combined. …

Playstation 4 – Is it Worth It?

Are the gamers of the world ready for the new and improved PlayStation 4? Many people are still getting used to the newest PS3 and learning the nuances of playing with this gaming system and already Sony as well as Microsoft are in the works, creating the next generation gaming console. As there have been a management changes at Sony, rumors have been flying around that Sony would not continue with the design of the new PlayStation 4. Yet according to Sony this is nothing but rumors, according to Paul Colman the vice president of technology for Sony Europe, "To say that there will be no PS4 because of a management change is a bit far fetched." He claims that they are still on track with their plans to release the PS4 but that no one should expect to see its release until 2011 at the earliest.

As we all know the Microsoft Xbox and the Sony PlayStation are battling for billions of dollars in gaming console sales. If Sony stumbles and fails to release the PS4, they would be standing to loose billion in profits plus the attention of so many gamers who look to the PlayStation to stay on the cutting edge. Sony better stay on their toes, over at Microsoft They are working on the new Xbox 720. The Xbox 720 is at the core of Microsoft's efforts to capture the hearts and wallets of millions of gamers worldwide.

Assuming that the PS4 will be improving on the platform of the PS3 we can expect to see some hardware changes. For example the current 802.11b chipset will give way to the 802.11n chipset; This will allow the new PlayStation 4 gaming console to have a greater wireless range. Then we can look for an external power supply to reduce the bulk of the case and to improve cooling. A much larger hard disk is expected as room needs to be made for an expected larger than ever mass of downloadable games. As this is a serious concern, talks and rumors are hinting at a one Terabyte hard disk. Then we have the RAM. Currently there is a RAM issue believe it or not, the PS3s memory architecture is shared and this is limiting the loading of more advanced graphics rich games. The developers of games have a split 512 mb area of RAM to work with. It is suggested that the PlayStation 4 will not only increase RAM but allocate more dedicated RAM to the developers who will in turn be able to create more intense and detailed games. More ram could mean multiple GBs of DDR2 RAM will be employed to make the PlayStation 4 a graphics marvel that can really fly!

New Graphics Engine?

Now the PS3 is using a graphics processor that is based on the NVIDIA RSX chipset. It has already been rumored that Intel is in talks with Sony to provide the next hot thing in graphics processing power. The new Intel …

Temperature Controlled Containers for Vaccine Storage

The correct climate controlled containers for storing vaccines are absolutely vital. Without these, the result may be that vaccines become useless, people cannot be vaccinated and money is wasted.

If you are transporting or storing pharmaceutical products such as vaccines, it is essential that they are stored under the right conditions and that contingency plans are in place to ensure that the temperature remains correct and consistent.

Earlier this year, it was reported in an Oregon newspaper that around 22,000 people in the state may have to have their vaccination repeated because mistakes were made with the storage of the vaccines.

Temperature monitoring

The major issue with the storage of the vaccines was that they were being stored at the wrong temperature. The already-significant problem was made worse by the fact that equipment installed to monitor temperatures was faulty and was not working correctly.

Although storing vaccines at the incorrect temperature does not make them dangerous to people, what it can do is make the vaccines less potent or in some cases almost useless.

Because of this, in Oregon, some of those affected needed to be re-vaccinated.

Good practices, policies, procedures and climate controlled containers are needed to ensure that vaccines are stored at the correct temperature. Temperature monitoring equipment is essential as well. There are various ways to carry out temperature monitoring.

One way is for staff to regularly check the temperature controlled containers in person. However, this is not the only option and more flexible high-tech solutions are available.

For example remote temperature checking equipment is available which means you can monitor the equipment from any location through the internet.

Climate controlled containers

It is also imperative that vaccines are stored at exactly the right temperature. Even with temperature monitoring in place and all the other necessary procedures, policies and practices, there also needs to be a back-up plan in place in case something goes wrong. An option is to have a two separate refrigeration systems. This means that if one piece of refrigeration equipment fails, the other one will kick on meaning you do not get any refrigeration downtime.

When you are looking into investing in climate controlled containers to store your vaccinations, it is highly advisable to work with a company that has experience and a specialism in refrigerated storage equipment for the pharmaceutical industry.…

Thanksgiving Party Games – Thankful For The Fun!

Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks for the blessings you have received in the past year, but every gathering is more fun with games, and we should all give thanks for the fun in our lives! The following games are sure to add fun to your Thanksgiving gathering!

Name the Character

As each guest at your Thanksgiving party arrives, a picture of a Thanksgiving related item (turkey, ham, pumpkin pie, bale of hay, Indian, pilgrim, pilgrim hat, etc.) is taped to their back. Throughout the gathering, each guest is allowed to ask questions to help them determine what Thanksgiving picture is taped to their back. A great question to begin with is "" Am I an animal or an object? "" "Simply allow this to continue until everyone has either guessed what the picture on their back is, or they have given up.

Thanksgiving Chairs (a variation on musical chairs)

Having an adult helper for this game makes it go much more smoothly. The game begins with a line of chairs. There should be one less chair than there are players. The first person in line begins with a statement about something for which they are thankful. For example, one could state, "" I am thankful for people with long hair "" (Or "" I am thankful for everyone wearing blue "). Everyone who fits that statement, for example, everyone with long hair, gets up and changes places while a helper removes one chair. The game continues until all chairs are filled. The person left standing is 'out' and the last one to be finished gets a turn at naming something for which they are grateful. One by one, a chair is removed until there is only one person left standing. The last person standing is the winner.

Thanksgiving party games can make the difference between a ho-hum celebration and a Thanksgiving sure to leave everyone giving thanks. …

Application Development: How to Make Sure You Don’t Drive Users Crazy

When you develop an application, sometimes it can be difficult to not fill your product with every feature you can think of, but it’s important to know when to stop. Many applications-most of which are not successful-suffer from bloated designs, and their users often have no idea what to do with half of it. Balance and prioritization are paramount in custom software development, especially in the mobile space.

Instagram, for example, offers a wide range of filters and options, but is simple to grasp, and doesn’t overdo it. Most people stick to tweaking their photos with filters, and leave it at that. What Instagram didn’t do was cram options like those found in the built-in iOS photo editor, which is significantly more robust. Most people won’t use all of the features it has to offer. The average user doesn’t want to mess with horizon lines or black points; they just want to take a photo, choose a filter that makes them look their best, and then upload it to share it with their friends. In this case, less is more. It’s hard to argue with Instagram’s success.

When you add features to your application with wild abandon, you’re not necessarily doing your users any favors. Even if every single one of those features work as intended, the additional weight that’s added with each extra feature can really bog the application down. It can make things difficult to navigate-partly because nobody likes nested menus-and slow to load. Worse, those features may just sit, unused or unnoticed, because your users don’t actually bother with them. That means that you wasted time and resources building part of a product for nothing-something no company can afford to do.

But how do you know when to stop?

Go back to application basics

If you want your application to be successful, you need to be able to identify the core function. Again, to use Instagram as an example, that core function is photo sharing; people use it to share pictures with their friends and followers, and users can comment back and forth on them.

By contrast, the iOS Photos app is designed to manage your photo library directly from your phone or iPad, which invites a deeper level of editing. The complexity of its feature offering is justified because that is part of its intent. Both of these apps have been wildly successful because all of the apps’ features support the core function rather than distract from it.

What’s your app’s core function? If you can’t identify it plainly-not necessarily in a single word, but close to it-then you shouldn’t be adding features.

Add features that will enhance that part of the application experience

Your app may never be “complete.” Facebook has redesigned their whole interface and introduced a range of new features pretty much annually, and that’s not going to slow down any time soon. The same is true, in varying degrees, for many apps.

When you’re designing your application, your features need to be …
